My driver is missing!
Well we took the truck that the gas gauge doesn't work on.
There are a few things that I've come to understand in Mexico. One of them is that everything takes longer than you expect. Things go sideways often.
One day there was no water on the boys side of the house. My 18 year old friend Manuel immediately jumped into action and showed me how he had to get 3 pictures of water from where clothes are washed and fill the pipe to prime the pump at the well. See, it's fixed. This is not uncommon. It's just the way it is here.
I take for granted that I can turn on my faucet, always have water and even drink the water that comes from it.
That's one of the reasons I enjoy coming to Mexico. It keeps me humble. I'm reminded at every turn how blessed I am.
Here he is petting one of the dragons that live here. Ok, it's an iguana. His face is blurry, because it was dark and probably because I was shaking. I was so scared for him! Well it turns out the iguana must have fallen from the tree and was in trouble. He was not moving because he was near death. We found him the next morning dead as a doornail. I did see another one a few days later, so there are more, but they never bother anyone. The kids and workers often lay out extra lettuce and vegetables for them.
I've been sick the last few days and have done little. Most of the above pictures were from previous days. I did found out my sickness is my buddy's fault! He'd been praying for me to rest and relax, so I'm blaming him for me getting sick and staying in my room for most of the last 4 days! That's ok, it's nice to rest and read.
I'm now 95% better and am back to normal relaxing and not sick relaxing.
